The Make
Ron Zacapa 23 is produced in Guatemala from the first pressing of virgin sugar cane and matured at over 2,300 metres using the Sistema Solera, a fractional blending of rums aged 6 to 23 years across ex-bourbon, Oloroso, and Pedro Ximénez casks, bottled at 40% ABV.
Tasting Notes
The nose is sweet and caramelised, with honey, vanilla, butterscotch, toasted hazelnut, and dark chocolate. The palate is rich and mouth-coating, with toffee, dried fruit, coffee, and warm spice over a long finish.
Serve & Pair
Serve neat or over a single large ice cube with orange peel, or in a Rum Old Fashioned; it pairs with dark chocolate, crème brûlée, and espresso.
