La Segreta derives its name from the forest that encircles our vineyard at Ulmo. This youthful and refreshing wine, primarily made from Nero d’Avola grapes—the hallmark of Sicilian wine—acquires elegance and character through the inclusion of international grape varieties. All grapes are expertly cultivated in vineyards owned by Planeta. La Segreta serves as a versatile choice for everyday enjoyment, fitting for a wide range of occasions. It offers an excellent introduction to Sicilian wine, showcasing a favorable balance between quality and price, a testament to the diligent efforts of the Planeta family from vineyard to bottle.

The process includes destemming followed by a maceration period of 7-14 days on the skins at a temperature of 25⁰C, followed by maturation in stainless steel after racking.

Color: A strikingly vivid ruby hue.
Nose: The nose reveals aromas of redcurrant and mulberry, complemented by a hint of spice and a minty finish.
Palate: On the palate, the wine expresses its refined character with flavors of ripe wild fruits, harmonized by a delightful full-bodied and herbal taste. The tannins are soft and smooth, imparting a highly versatile nature to this red wine.
