The Make
Buffalo Trace is distilled in Frankfort, Kentucky, from a low-rye mash bill and aged for around eight to ten years in new charred American white oak barrels, bottled at 45% ABV.
Tasting Notes
The nose carries vanilla, caramel, and a hint of fresh mint over brown sugar and orchard fruit. The palate is smooth and moderately sweet, with caramel, toffee, and baking spice leading to a lingering finish of vanilla and gentle oak.
Serve & Pair
Serve neat or over a single large cube, or in an Old Fashioned or Mint Julep; it suits smoked meats, aged cheddar, and pecan pie.
