Casa Ferreirinha Vinha Grande White, Portugal, 750mL

Following the selection process at the high-altitude vineyards of Quinta do Cavernelho and Quinta do Sairrao, the hand-harvested grapes were subjected to de-stemming and gentle crushing using a pneumatic press at the Vila Real winery. The vinification process involved skin maceration to enhance the extraction of aromatic elements, succeeded by soft pressing and fermentation in French oak casks with regular lees stirring. The wines that constitute Vinha Grande were aged in French oak barrels for approximately three months. Subsequently, after numerous tastings and a rigorous selection process, the final blend was crafted and, after clarification, it was bottled and allowed to mature in the bottle before its release.

Tasting Note: The wine exhibits a bright clarity with greenish undertones. Its aroma is intense and intricately complex, showcasing a dominance of white fruits such as pear and melon, accompanied by subtle citrus and mineral notes, along with a delicate and well-integrated hint of oak. On the palate, this wine presents a refined volume, with a vibrant acidity that imparts a minerally freshness, again highlighting the white fruits, and featuring balanced, integrated oak. The finish is lengthy and complex.

Food Pairing: This wine is an excellent choice as an aperitif or pairs well with fish and seafood dishes, salads, pasta, and even certain white meats.
