Casa Ferreirinha, Vinha Grande, Douro, Portugal, 750mL

The grapes were meticulously hand-picked and vinified utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Following a gentle crushing and de-stemming process, they underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks, characterized by extended macerations and pumping-over, all under strictly controlled temperatures. The wine was then transported to Vila Nova de Gaia between October and December, where it matured for approximately one year in used French oak barrels. The final blend was crafted from a selection based on numerous tastings and analyses conducted throughout this maturation period, and it was lightly filtered before bottling.

Tasting Note: The wine exhibits a ruby red color with purple highlights. Its aroma is rich and intense, featuring predominant notes of redcurrant and plum, complemented by hints of spice, resin, and cedar, all harmoniously integrated with subtle oak nuances. This wine is well-balanced, showcasing firm, well-structured tannins and vibrant, appealing acidity. The finish is exceptionally long and harmonious.

Food Pairing: This wine is an excellent choice to pair with traditional Portuguese dishes, as well as a wide range of meats, cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes. It is also recommended to be enjoyed as an aperitif alongside cured and spicy cheeses.
