This time, it is the 818 Tequila in the limelight which was recently unveiled by Kendall Jenner, the 25-year-old American supermodel & reality star with 150+ million followers on Instagram.
Fans are ecstatic over 818 Tequila or the Kendall Jenner tequila as they’re calling it. Kendall took to Instagram posting a video of her trying the tequila with the following caption:
“For almost 4 years I’ve been on a journey to create the best tasting tequila. After dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING … 3.5 years later I think we’ve done it! This is all we’ve been drinking for the last year and I can’t wait for everyone else to get their hands on this to enjoy it as much as we do! @drink818 coming soon.”
Evidently, ‘drink818’ is the Instagram handle of Kendall’s new 818 Tequila, which has won the Chairman’s Trophy at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge, and the Innovation Award at SIP Awards – anonymously!
Flying under the radar for 4 years as a libation venture which is the side hustle of someone of Kendall’s repute is no mean feat in itself.
A clear departure from the beauty-oriented ventures of her sisters, 818 Tequila is a solo libation venture, between her modeling and filming commitments, which has turned out to be quite promising for Kendall.
818 Tequila is handcrafted in small batches in the traditional way from the Blue Weber agave plants grown in the very heartland of Mexico, the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco.
It will be launched in three expressions: Blanco, Reposado and Anejo.
Funnily enough, Kenny’s sister Khloe remarked in 2016 in an interview to the fashion magazine Elle that when it came to alcohol, Kendall was “really focused and determined”.
